Overview

Parker & Sons is seeking a Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager to lead and operate the company's analytics function as a single-person department. This individual will serve as the organization's primary resource for reporting, dashboards, and data analysis, and will be accountable for the accuracy, stability, and timeliness of all business intelligence deliverables.

The company's reporting is delivered primarily through Power BI and Domo, supported by a consistent volume of ad hoc analytical requests from department leaders. Underlying data is sourced from Databricks, SQL databases, Microsoft Excel, and an expanding set of third-party vendor systems, including automated vendor reports that are delivered to SharePoint through Power Automate and consumed directly into reporting. The Manager is responsible for integrating these sources into a cohesive, well-documented reporting environment that leadership can rely upon for decision-making.

This is a hands-on management role. The successful candidate will set reporting priorities in partnership with department heads, personally design and build the solutions, and maintain them over time. The position requires sound judgment, disciplined prioritization, meticulous attention to detail, and a consistent record of meeting commitments.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence and Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise dashboards and recurring reports in Power BI and Domo, ensuring data accuracy and reliable refresh schedules.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from leadership and operating departments with timely, validated results and clearly stated assumptions.
  • Establish and maintain standard metric definitions and supporting documentation to ensure consistency of reporting across the organization.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve reporting issues to maintain uninterrupted availability of business-critical information.

Data Management and Integration

  • Extract, transform, and prepare data using SQL, Databricks, Microsoft Excel, and Power Query to produce reliable, report-ready datasets.
  • Establish automated data connections to third-party vendor systems through their application programming interfaces (APIs), replacing manual exports with direct, scheduled data feeds. Advanced proficiency in this area is required.
  • Analyze the structure and definitions of vendor-supplied data and reconcile it accurately with internal records, including customers, jobs, personnel, dates, and financial values.
  • Maintain and expand the Power Automate processes that receive automated reports from third-party vendors, load them to SharePoint, and make them available to downstream Power BI and Domo reporting; ensure these feeds are monitored, validated, and resilient to changes in vendor file formats.
  • Develop additional Power Automate workflows to automate report distribution, exception alerts, data validation, and cross-system processes.
  • Document all data sources, transformations, integrations, and refresh logic to ensure auditability and business continuity.

Stakeholder Partnership and Prioritization

  • Partner with leaders in operations, finance, and field departments to define reporting requirements and translate business questions into measurable outcomes.
  • Manage a portfolio of competing requests; establish realistic timelines, communicate trade-offs, and consistently meet committed delivery dates.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the adoption of self-service reporting by guiding stakeholders in the interpretation and appropriate use of dashboards and metrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of five years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or analytics, including experience serving as the primary or sole analytics resource for an organization or business unit.
    • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX measures, visualization design, and refresh management.
    • Advanced proficiency in Domo, including cards, dashboards, Magic ETL or DataFlows, connectors, and calculated fields (Beast Modes).
    • Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with Databricks or a comparable data platform.
    • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Query, and demonstrated experience building production workflows in Power Automate, including automated file intake and processing through SharePoint.
    • Strong, demonstrated experience integrating data from external systems through APIs and incorporating it into internal reporting.
    • Proven ability to reconcile third-party data with internal data, including the resolution of key mismatches, duplicates, and definitional differences.
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and validate conclusions before presenting them to leadership.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple concurrent deliverables, and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Python for data processing, integration, or automation.
    • Experience supporting the trades, home services, construction, or multi-site field operations industries.
    • Familiarity with field service management, ERP, CRM, payroll, or procurement systems and their associated data.
    • Knowledge of data governance practices, including metric standardization, documentation, and change control.

    Performance Expectations: First 90 Days

    • Complete an inventory and assessment of all existing reports, dashboards, data sources, and integrations, identifying risks and gaps.
    • Ensure core Power BI and Domo dashboards are stable, accurate, and refreshing on schedule.
    • Meet with each department leader and establish a prioritized reporting roadmap with committed delivery dates.
    • Implement at least one automated third-party vendor data integration that reconciles with internal records in production reporting.
    • Deliver measurable reductions in manual reporting effort through Power Query and Power Automate solutions.
