Overview

Parker & Sons is currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to join our team comprised of creative and energetic employees, who are dedicated to delivering the best customer service experience every day. The Vice President of Operations will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the operational functions of our HVAC, plumbing, and electrical business. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient delivery of services, the optimization of resources, and the achievement of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the President, the VP of Operations will drive excellence across service delivery, workforce management, and operational performance to achieve company goals.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational goals in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service sectors.
  • Analyze market trends and operational data to identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set business priorities and establish long-term objectives.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Implement best practices, SOPs, and systems to optimize workflows, fleet management, and inventory control.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution, scheduling, and quality assurance processes.

Team Development & Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations team, including department heads overseeing service technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus across all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure adequate training and professional development to meet evolving industry standards and technologies.

Financial & Performance Management:

  • Establish and monitor operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate productivity, service quality, and profitability.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new service opportunities and enhancing existing offerings.

Customer Focus:

  • Champion a customer-centric approach to ensure exceptional service delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address escalated customer concerns and resolve issues promptly to maintain strong client relationships.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
  • Promote workplace safety through the development and enforcement of safety protocols and training programs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations within the HVAC, plumbing, or electrical services industry or other residential home service industry
  • Proven track record of managing multi-location service operations and achieving financial and operational goals.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a results-driven approach.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software, technologies, and best practices.
  • Expertise in operational metrics, budget management, and process optimization.
